讲座摘要 | ABSTRACT
How do actors with different grammars of worth converge in their action? Building on literatures of institutional theory and identity work, this project examines how a grassroots organization navigates an entrenched power structure to facilitate field-level changes. We conducted an in-depth case study of the Dream Foundation that promotes competency-based education in China. Our study theorizes the process that a new entrant in an established field uses “Recognition to reshuffle the web of power relations and mobilize resources, therefore cultivating and aligning interests between the periphery and the center socially and geographically.
